My fingertips are sore, my hands are sore, but the end result is worth it! Today Patti, Ally and myself headed out to Kitchener to check out a kitchen hardware liquidators because we were in need of some new cupboard knob and hinges to replace the older, dirty, dated yellow brass ones that used to be there. Until I changed that tonight! We made sure before we left that we counted each piece correctly, and measured the screw hole distances to ensure that the new hinges would fit into the existing holes so that we wouldn’t have to make new ones or even see some old holes peeking out once the new hinges were installed. But, we didn’t take into account the holes on the back of the cupboard doors. So, what seemed like an easy job in the beginning, lead to tapping and drilling new holes for the new hinges. The good thing is that there are no visible holes anywhere. Phew!
The brushed nickel looks so much nicer.
And since we were in Kitchener, we called up my mom and took her to lunch at the pub down by my sister’s place. The place was empty when we got there, so we had just snuck in ahead of the lunch rush. We all shared a nachos to start, which made eating my extra hot buffalo chicken wrap difficult since my belly was already full. During lunch we were able to talk about plans for the upcoming Christmas season. Stuff like who’s house is going to host the gift opening for the kids, who’s house is hosting supper, who’s visiting when. It was great to be able to have lunch with my mom. Even though Milton isn’t that far away from Kitchener, I sometimes don’t see my parents for over a month. Hopefully next time my dad will have a break from work to come out with us!
Here’s a few photos from lunch!
Any place that has Guinness on tap is favourite.
Ally wanted to sit next to Nan for lunch.
And here are the 3 lovely ladies that joined me for lunch.
